Northwest MSDC Celebrates MBEs at Annual Awards Dinner
The Northwest MSDC kicked off its 35th year in high style by celebrating Minority Business Enterprises from across the country. At its March 8 awards dinner, Northwest MSDC honored three individuals for their advocacy of MBEs and six organizations for their commitment to MBEs, as well as MBEs in general for the work that they do.
David Segura, Nelson Reyneri, Jr., and Fernando Martinez celebrate the success of the event.“The room was full of passion. There’s a lot of electricity in our ecocystem,” said Fernando Martinez, president and CEO of Northwest MSDC. “You could feel everybody’s commitment to what they do and to what our organization does.”
Keynote speaker David Segura, founder and CEO of IT firm VisionIT, echoed Martinez’s comments. “There’s something electric about being here, in this room, with you,” he told the crowd of 250 at The Westin Seattle. “There’s so much value that MBEs provide.”
“I love the passion,” said the evening’s emcee, Mychal Harris. Harris, founder of technology consulting company AVYCI Solutions LLC, added that it was clear to him how much “hard work” goes into running an MBE.
